I am really pleased to share that I have now completed my couples therapy training. It feels like a privilege to have learned from two exceptional lecturers who have shaped my understanding of relational work through their extensive knowledge, clinical experience and clear, evidence-based teaching.

During my Integrative Counselling degree at Middlesex University, I was introduced to couple‑focused theories and practice by the deeply knowledgeable Lottie Passell-Syms, whose teaching laid strong foundations for understanding relational dynamics, communication patterns and the emotional processes that unfold between partners. I learnt about a wide range of theories that support effective couple work, from attachment and psychodynamic perspectives to systemic and relational models.

More recently, I completed a couples therapy training with Heidi Renton, MA MBACP RegCOSRT at Basingstoke Counselling Service. Her teaching has helped me deepen my understanding of how early relational patterns shape later dynamics, and how couples therapy requires the therapist to hold the shared emotional field.

Through her guidance, I have learned to work more confidently from a couple state of mind, and stay attuned to the relationship itself, the patterns partners co‑create, and the emotional processes that unfold between them.

I am now ready to integrate couples counselling into my practice, support partners with their relational needs and create a safe space where both voices can be heard.

I am looking forward to welcoming couples into my counselling service.
